[The first section of this blog is actually a book called Messages from Mother.... Earth Mother released at the end of October, 2012. You can read all of the Messages here or purchase the book with the first thirteen Messages at this page. It is also available at other internet venues and can be ordered from any bookstore in the USA and internationally.]
Where this information comes from is part of the Great Mystery to me. This book was written in only five weeks. I was focused on a completely different book and Spirit broadsided me in late June, 2012, and told me this was the book I was meant to write. I was fighting lymphoma and essentially surrendered to Spirit to write this. I healed from the cancer during the same time period.
At times Spirit will just do that.
As I understand it, for most of our human existence many peoples across the planet could listen to Spirit. The plants told them about their medicinal properties. The stones shared their stories of ancient, ancient times and stored memories. The trees spoke of a wisdom that only trees, or standing ones, as the Native peoples say, could know.
When someone learns to listen then Spirit will begin to talk and you can sometimes tune in. When Spirit starts to communicate with you, it is a humbling experience and you realize that two-leggeds have only a tiny slice of the greater reality of Life.
You could say I’ve learned how to listen to some degree.
I’ve spent the better part of sixteen years studying with Native American teachers and listening to the land. For fifteen of those years, I had a professional gardening business based on an approach I call Sacred Gardening. We tried to do everything from a place of reverence.
My background is also in environmental work. I was a National Park Service Ranger in the Grand Canyon and Alaska in my early twenties and eventually received my Masters in natural resources, which led into international work in the 1990s. That evolved into leading workshops about environmental sustainability on the corporate level on a part-time basis.
It is truly from the outdoor space of hiking or gardening plus learning more of a Native American worldview that allowed my listening to develop. It’s tough to learn how to listen in an office setting.
I am not unique. There are so many people waking up and learning how to tune in to the wisdom of the plants, trees and stones. These are hopeful signs in these interesting times.
My first book is called If I gave you God’s phone number…. Searching for Spirituality in America. So it’s easy to conclude that I’m open to the concept of communicating with the spiritual realms, the realms of the mystics.
I believe Spirit has messages for us all if we learn to honor this wisdom from our spiritual guides, and just stop to listen. Sometimes it might even be Earth Mother communicating. Surrendering to their wisdom is one of the wisest paths to take.
If you’d like to learn more about me, you can go to my blog: For the Earth. My personal website is under construction presently.
thanks… blessings and hugs…

I am one of those lucky people, who while living in the nice green wet island in the North Sea called Britain, have manged to read the lovely, thought provoking book, ‘If I gave you God’s phone number…’ To anyone who has the slightest interest in the life spiritual, it is an eye opener and very refreshingly written. Another aspect of the book which I enjoy/ed, is the harlequin mixture of responses, that you wouldn’t arrive at necessarily on your ‘own’ path. It’s a lovely read, and I wish it and its author well. How about another? Bert R. Wells.
Oh, Bert, this very blog that you’ve left this lovely comment on, is going to be a book, very quickly forthcoming. You are very kind… ;~)

Yes, there are also a few boys listening and lingering in your garden. Thank youl for all your listening and sharing. ~)
Oh, Larry… ;~)
Are you hanging out in my garden? The least that you can do is weed it then. It needs some mulching too. And there are some herbs that I’d like to put in also. Can you take care of that for me? ;~p
You’re such a sweetie… thank you for all of your beautiful kindnesses and spirit.
more soon, blessings, blessings,

I have doves in my garden. Mother Dove gave birth to three baby doves just as I was leaving for my trip to Rockville this summer. When I returned I found her proudly warming the nest she had built …. a warm home waiting for a birthing.
And, I might add since my garden is filled with rosemary; my doves use a lot of rosemary for their nests.
Now that they are free from the nest and buzzing all around my garden, I have decided to commission Arrow Dove on a mission to bring some rosemary twigs to start a nest for her next brood … to be born in the garden of Mare.
And now we shall have a garden blossoming with Rosemare…~)
Larry,
I love the way that your spirit and mind work together.
“Rosemare.” You are too cute and wonderful.
You know, you probably don’t know about my other blog where I post often. If you go to http://marecromwell.wordpress.com, you might have some fun there. Did a long piece this am on the Lakota Hollow Eagle Bone concept. I post there a lot. (Too much at times… need to do other stuff too. ;~)
